Announcing CARES Act Relief Grants For Nonprofits

The Licking County Foundation (LCF) has partnered with the Licking County Board of Commissioners to distribute funds made available by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations battling through the current economic challenges directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic and state mandates.

With an allocation from the County, Licking County Foundation will administer a grant program through the Licking County CARES Act Nonprofit Relief Fund to support nonprofit organizations that have lost or will lose revenue due to canceled events or programs as a result of COVID-19 public health emergency (between March 1, 2020 and December 30, 2020).  Priority will be given to organizations that have not previously received relief funding from other public or private sources.  Grants of up to $40,000 will be awarded to nonprofit organizations serving Licking County residents.

Distributions from the Licking County CARES Act Nonprofit Relief Fund will be made based on applications that are submitted at the request of the Licking County Foundation, reviewed and recommended by a six-member Grant Oversight Committee (consisting of LCF staff, board and community members), and approved by the Foundation’s Executive Committee.

Nonprofit organizations are asked to carefully review our FAQ document. If your organization meets the criteria outlined in the FAQ, we encourage you to submit a Contact Request Form here.

Businesses and individuals are not eligible for this program.  However, grants may be made to nonprofit organizations that provide direct financial assistance to individuals.  The Licking County Chamber of Commerce is also offering a CARES Act grant program for small, for-profit business and nonprofit organizations that do not have a 501(c)(3) designation from the IRS.  Churches and other religious institutions will also be served through the Chamber's program. Visit the Chamber’s COVID-19 resource webpage here for more information.
