A resounding response from generous donors has helped the Licking County Foundation secure an extraordinary $1 million matching gift from Lou Reese!
With this support, our artisans brought back some of the most important features in this storied building: the colorful, complex wall and ceiling murals, rich serpentine stone floors and wainscoting, warm red oak trim—and to top it all off, shimmering gold leaf on crown molding, window soffits and the vestibule’s ceiling, highlighted in the photo above.
After more than a decade, this restoration and reimagination journey is coming to a close. On October 27, the Sullivan Building will begin a new chapter of serving the community as the Sullivan Welcome Center. We are immensely grateful to each and every supporter for making this possible every step of the way, and hope you’ll celebrate this achievement with us!
The Licking County Foundation is deeply grateful to Louella H. Reese for inspiring the gifts that made this final work possible. It is fitting that Lou’s gift helped restore some of the most important murals of Louis Sullivan’s storied career for generations of people to experience and enjoy.
This community's exceptional generosity brings us within $270,000 to close out our capital campaign. You can still make a gift or make a pledge to the Finishing Touches Fund as a wonderful way to celebrate the opening of this treasure! Click this link for complete details.
