Strengthening our community ...

Licking County Foundation was established to help channel donors’ compassion into action through the allocation of grants to charitable organizations that meet existing and emerging needs across our community.  Our nonprofit grant partners make it possible for the Foundation to support a wide variety of activities benefiting local citizens of all ages in areas including health and human services, arts and culture, education, parks and recreation, the environment, economic development, public safety, and more.

Our grants include strategic funding from our Field of Interest and Unrestricted funds, as well as support for specific organizations or initiatives through donor-designated, project, and agency fund grants. A Grant Review Committee comprised of community members reviews strategic funding opportunities and makes recommendations to our Governing Committee, which approves all of our grantmaking.

As a result of more intentional and frequent engagement with our nonprofit community during the COVID-19 pandemic, Licking County Foundation has gained new insights into how different organizations of many shapes and sizes are meeting a broad and complex array of needs across many different communities in Licking County.

In response to convened group conversations, data supplied by nonprofits, and ongoing engagement with our grant partners, LCF has shifted primarily to strategic funding in 2021. This allows us to direct resources more effectively to support our nonprofit community in a way that creates even greater impact for all residents of Licking County.

If you know of emerging community needs and opportunities, please let us know! Organizations are encouraged to reach out with information about new or expanding programs, projects, or communities served by writing us at
