9:00 am - 10:30 am
Licking County Library, 101 W Main St., Newark, Ohio
Whether creating an inclusive registration form, respectfully addressing someone we meet at a conference, or adding pronouns to an email signature, aspects of gender identity have become an ever-increasing part of our personal and professional communication.
In a session led by Lane Shirrell, Community Education & Research Manager at Kaleidoscope Youth Center, we will learn about the complexity of gender, including:
- Gender identity
- Gender expression
- Sex assigned at birth
- Distinctions between gender and sexuality
- The LGBTQIA+ acronym
- Use of personal gender pronouns
- Alternatives to using gendered language
As Ohio’s largest and longest serving organization solely dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ youth, KYC will lead us through a learning session and conversation on this aspect of creating a more inclusive environment.
