Breaking Barriers: Building Inclusive Communities That Work for Everyone

Session description
Accessibility and inclusion aren’t just buzzwords—they’re essential to creating welcoming spaces where everyone can thrive. But let’s face it: barriers still exist, and sometimes we don’t even realize they’re there.

In this dynamic and interactive workshop, we’ll explore how to recognize—and remove—the obstacles that people with disabilities continue to face in our communities, workplaces, and service programs. Whether you’re new to accessibility or already on the journey, you’ll gain practical tools and insights to help make your work more inclusive and impactful.

In this session, you’ll:
• Discover the common (and not-so-obvious) barriers faced by people with disabilities
• Learn about the legal foundations that support accessibility
• Get tips and best practices to create more inclusive programs, events, and workplaces
• Walk away with real resources you can use immediately

You won’t just sit and listen—you’ll brainstorm, share ideas, and apply what you learn to your own organization in real time. By the end, you’ll have a toolkit full of strategies to help make accessibility part of everything you do.
