DoubleTree Hotel, 50 N 2nd St., Newark, Ohio - Official Host of Licking County Learns Together

Organizations of every kind have struggled with returning to pre-pandemic levels after losing staff and volunteers during the pandemic. Licking County Foundation learned from our nonprofits partners that staffing problems are impacting their ability to provide services. No matter what salary level, many nonprofit employers are finding it hard to attract or retain qualified people to help achieve their missions. How can organizations meet their goals and serve the community effectively amid these workforce challenges?

In response to these concerns, Licking County Foundation is hosting a discussion led by Joan Franks, Vice President of Human Resources for Matesich Distributing, on what it means to be in the people business – including employee engagement, employee value proposition, and strategies and tactics to attract new employees. Participants are encouraged to come prepared to share examples of their organization’s current hiring challenges/successes and future needs, both to contribute to a robust conversation – and to identify possible topics for future discussions.
