The Licking County Foundation accepts proposals from tax-exempt, 501(c)(3)nonprofit organizations and government entities serving Licking County as part of a competitive grantmaking process to respond to new and existing capital needs that might not be met were it not for LCF’s support. Awarded through unrestricted funds, these grants carry out the wishes of fund donors and help nonprofits meet the needs of our community.
Licking County Foundation will accept grant requests of up to $25,000 from organizations with capital project or equipment needs. Capital Grants are limited to one approved request per three years per organization. Capital projects or equipment acquisition (including vehicles) must occur within one year from the time of funding.
Lower priority will be given to requests for capital purchases that are evaluated as typical or routine expenses that should be part of an organization’s annual operating budget, such as periodic replacement of office equipment.
The Foundation is committed to making the grant application process as simple and effective as possible for nonprofits. The information provided through the application process helps LCF make sound decisions based on its mission, the directives of donors, and the Foundation’s goal to provide effective assistance to as many organizations as possible. Here is Licking County Foundation’s process for submission, evaluation and approval of grant proposals:
•First, the Licking County Foundation Capital Grant Program Application is completed and submitted online by grantseekers.
•Second, the LCF Grant Review Committee evaluates each application to determine whether the proposal follows grant program guidelines, contains all required information, and should be considered for funding.
•Third, the Grant Review Committee makes recommendations to the Licking County Foundation’s Governing Committee which must give final approval for funding.
•Lastly, the Governing Committee awards grants to projects that improve the quality of life for all citizens of Licking County.
HOW TO APPLY FOR A CAPITAL GRANT
The Foundation’s Capital Grant Program is an open, competitive, discretionary program through which funding is provided to nonprofit organizations serving Licking County to support capital project or equipment needs.
