Who is eligible for a Tibbie Leslie Travel Grant?

Any teacher, instructor, assistant professor, associate professor or professor in any school or institution of learning, public, private or parochial, at whatever level of instruction or grade or rank in the teaching profession, serving in Licking County are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to teachers at Newark High School, Tibbie's alma mater.

Former recipients may apply for additional grants after two years from any grant received; however, priority will be given to new applicants who have not received a grant. Tibbie Leslie Travel Grants cannot be used by teachers accompanying their students on a class or school trip.

What is the Tibbie Leslie Travel Grant?

The Tibbie Leslie Travel Grant provides awards of up to $2,000 each for travel outside the continental United States. The grants will be awarded for foreign travel to broaden the applicant's knowledge, experience and understanding in their particular field of interest. In the event available funds are not expended, larger grants may be awarded. After travel has been completed, a written report detailing the trip and expenses must be submitted to the Licking County Foundation. Reimbursement of eligible travel expenses is made through the teacher's school district after receipt and review of the report.
