ANYONE CAN BE A DONOR, EVERYONE CAN
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The Licking
County Foundation is funded not by a
few large donors, but through
thousands of gifts from ordinary
people who care deeply enough to put
their compassion into action.
Anyone
can support a local cause through
gifts to the Foundation by:
-
Choosing
one or a combination of named
funds to meet your charitable
interests.
-
Building
your fund in increments—the
minimum balance for
distributions to begin varies
with each fund type.
-
Contributing to almost any fund
already in existence at the
Foundation—at any time and in
any amount.
Types of Funds
We offer a
variety of fund types to match donor
interests.
Funds
can
be restricted in purpose, geographic
area, or specific charitable
organization—or may be unrestricted
in nature.
Most of
our funds fall within these main
categories:
-
Unrestricted
-
Field of Interest
-
Designated Agency
-

-
Scholarship
-
Donor Advised
-
Community Charitable
-

Ways to Give
We can
administer the broadest possible
range of charitable investments.
Donors
can use a wide variety of assets to
start a fund, such as:
- Gifts
of cash or publicly traded
securities
-
Assignment of a life insurance
policy
-
Charitable Remainder Trusts
-
Charitable Lead Trusts
-
Bequests
-
Transfer of Private Foundation
assets
-
Charitable Gift Annuity
- Real
estate
- Gifts
of tangible personal property
You are
encouraged to work with your estate
planning professional or tax advisor
to determine the type of gift that
is right for you and your family.
Tax
deductions are earned when your gift
is made, while grants awarded from
your fund will continue into the
future.
Under
most circumstances, contributions
that are made to start a fund or add
to an existing und are never spent.
Only the
growth or income a fund generates is
available for making grants.
