Surviving an Active Shooter Attack (SASA) Lecture

Is your organization prepared to address an active shooter situation?
Join us as we explore the importance of having a SASA plan.

What:  The Surviving an Active Shooter Attack (SASA) Lecture will focus on information associated with the increased likelihood of surviving an active shooter situation.  It will also address the history and statistics of active shooter events, along with Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS response within the City of Newark and the rest of Licking County.  The workshop’s topics will cover:  how is an Active Shooter situation defined and responded to by law enforcement; what are the threats; how can you enhance any lock-down procedure already in place; what to do if you are in an Active Shooter situation; and how to schedule an on-site, hands-on training specific to your organization/facility.

Who:  The Licking County Sheriff’s Office and Newark Police Department have been actively involved in providing this training to Licking County schools and other organizations for several years.  Their goal is to educate and prepare as many citizens as possible, and hope they never need to use such training.  This SASA lecture will be presented by Sheriff’s Deputy Gus Moore and NDP’s Officer Dave Bardsley.

When:  Tuesday, August 8, 2017 / 9:00 am – 11:00 am  Doors will open at 8:30am

Where:  The Midland Theatre, 36 N. Park Place, downtown Newark

Cost & Registration:  There is no cost to attend; however, registration is required.  You may bring multiple people from your organization (staff and/or volunteers) or business.

This form stopped accepting submissions on August 8, 2017 9:00 am EDT.

Questions:  Contact Amy Dell, amy@thelcfoundation.org or 730-349-3863, x108.

More About SASA Training:  SASA training consists of both lecture and hands-on training sessions. This session will cover the lecture portion only.  Participants interested in scheduling the hands-on training session for a later date either at their workplace or with a small group are welcome to speak to the trainers at the end of the presentation.

Thank You:  Licking County Sheriff’s Office, The Midland Theatre, and Newark Police Department for making this training possible
