Fourteen teachers around Licking County were surprised in their classrooms by representatives of the Licking County Foundation who presented them with a hand-blown glass apple
symbolizing the 2008 Leaders For
Learning Award.
The award was created by the Licking County Foundation in 1993 to honor and recognize teachers
at public schools throughout the county who exemplify excellence in their fields. The teachers are nominated by their superintendents with input from students, parents and alumni.
The Leaders for Learning Award is a lifetime recognition award. Past and present recipients are eligible to apply for grants to further their professional development or purchase books, equipment or technology for their classrooms.
