addition
to the scholarships available to
Licking County residents and graduates of
Licking County high schools, the
following scholarships are available
to graduates of Newark High School.
KENNETH
JOHNSTON SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
seniors graduating from Newark High
School. Previous recipients may
reapply.
MARY E.
ALFORD PEO CHAPTER DL SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
female seniors
graduating from Newark High School
attending any college or university.
Applicants must demonstrate participation in
extra-curricular activities.
ALETHEA
E. SLEIGHT PEO CHAPTER DL SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
female seniors graduating from Newark High
School attending any college or
university. Applicants must
demonstrate and
participation in extra-curricular
activities.
NEWARK
HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1951
SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
seniors graduating from Newark High
School who have attended Newark High
School for both the junior and
senior years.
Applicants must attend a two or four year
accredited college or university.
NEWARK
HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1953
SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
seniors graduating from Newark High
School who have attended Newark High
School for both the junior and
senior years. Applicants must attend a two or
four year accredited college or
university.
WILLIAMS
MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
seniors graduating from Newark High
School who have attended Newark High
School for both the junior and
senior years. Previous
recipients may reapply.
GEORGE
AND CATHERINE GREIDER SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
seniors graduating from Newark High
School who have attended
Newark High School for at least four
semesters.
Applicants must pursue studies in
the field of English, literature,
reading, including remedial reading
for the purpose of pursuing a career
in teaching at the primary or
secondary education levels.
BILL AND
SUE HENRY FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
seniors graduating from Newark High
School who have attended Newark High
School for both the junior and
senior years.
Applicants must
pursue further education in art
at
a two or four year accredited
college or university.
GEORGE
AND LOUISE KINSEY SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
seniors graduating from Newark High
School who pursue a degree
in the field of dentistry.
Previous recipients may reapply.
MIRIAM
WALTERS SCHOLARSHIP
Available to
seniors graduating from Newark High
School attending an Ohio college or
university. Applicants must have at
least a 3.2 GPA.
Awards
No application is required for
awards. They are presented
based on predetermined
qualifications
FLORENCE
M. KING AND ELIZABETH KING THEATRE
AWARD
Awarded to the senior judged by
Newark High School to be the top
drama student.
